Disneyland Paris has temporarily closed its popular Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast attraction for an extensive renovation, set to be completed by the end of 2025. This interactive space adventure in Discoveryland will undergo a significant transformation, with teams from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, maintenance, and central workshops working diligently to elevate the guest experience to new heights.
Enhanced Mission to Defeat Emperor Zurg
The mission to protect the toy galaxy from the evil Emperor Zurg will be enhanced with cutting-edge technology. All Astro-Blasters, used by guests to target enemies, will be dismantled and replaced with advanced models. Many XP-41 Space Cruisers will receive fresh paint and upgraded dashboards featuring state-of-the-art displays, making the battle against Zurg’s army more immersive and precise.
Brighter Galaxy with Revamped Lighting
When the attraction reopens, it will shine brighter than ever. All interior spotlights will be replaced, and special lighting effects will be refreshed to amplify the galactic atmosphere. Several targets, which guests use to score points against Zurg’s toy robots, will be upgraded with more accurate and high-performing models, enhancing the overall experience.
Revitalized Star Command Headquarters
The futuristic facade, depicting the Star Command headquarters with radars, energy towers, and striking columns, will receive a fresh coat of paint. The entrance sign and the nearly two-meter-tall Buzz Lightyear statue will also be refurbished. Neon lighting on the five towers and radar dishes will be completely renewed, bringing a vibrant glow to the space-themed exterior.
Comprehensive Technical Overhauls
The renovation includes a wide range of technical and visual improvements to ensure a top-tier experience. Several Audio-Animatronics will be restored to deliver more lifelike movements and appearances. Numerous areas of the attraction will be modernized or entirely replaced to maintain exceptional quality. The dedicated teams are working tirelessly to bring Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast back in top form by the end of 2025, promising guests an unforgettable adventure.
