New Light Show for Star Wars™ Hyperspace Mountain 2025

Disneyland Paris is transforming the exterior of Star Wars™ Hyperspace Mountain in Discoveryland into a visual spectacle. To celebrate the attraction’s 30th anniversary in 2025, a stunning new light show will captivate visitors starting in summer 2025.

Dazzling Light Effects for Discoveryland

The innovative lighting system will activate with each vehicle launch, bathing the iconic domed facade in spectacular light displays. This experience will enchant not only riders of Star Wars™ Hyperspace Mountain but also all Discoveryland guests who can admire the mesmerizing show. A seasoned lighting designer, who contributed to the original 1995 attraction, brings authenticity and expertise to the project.

Extensive Infrastructure Upgrades

Work on the new light show began nearly two years ago, led by Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Design & Delivery. Over 640 lights are being replaced, requiring more than 17 kilometers of cabling. The technical systems are being modernized, the roof repainted to its original splendor, and new access points are being added to streamline maintenance. These upgrades enhance both the attraction’s appearance and its long-term functionality.

Restoring an Iconic Landmark

The roof of Star Wars™ Hyperspace Mountain is being restored to its former glory, elevated by cutting-edge lighting effects. This blend of classic architecture and modern technology will solidify the attraction’s status as a centerpiece of Discoveryland. The redesign promises to make every galactic journey unforgettable for visitors.

30 Years of Space Mountain: Behind the Scenes

On June 1, 1995, Space Mountain first welcomed guests, and to mark its 30th anniversary, Disneyland Paris released an exclusive behind-the-scenes video. The video reveals how the magic of Star Wars™ Hyperspace Mountain comes to life - from its grand opening ceremony to its transformation into the current Star Wars-themed version.
