On April 29, 2024, Disneyland Paris was the setting for an exceptional celebration of World Wish Day, a day that highlights hope and joy. It brought together 85 children from across Europe to fulfill their dreams at the famed amusement park.

The Power of Wishes

Since its opening in 1992, Disneyland Paris has collaborated with Make-A-Wish to provide unforgettable experiences to over 20,000 children facing serious illnesses. This partnership underscores the powerful and healing nature of fulfilling a wish, especially for children in challenging circumstances.

A Weekend of Magic and Joy

The weekend kicked off with the arrival of 85 young guests from various parts of Europe. During their stay, they experienced the magic of Disneyland through numerous attractions, spectacular shows, and personal encounters with their favorite Disney characters. A highlight of their visit was a pre-parade in which the children participated, weaving through the park and delighting all visitors.

Commitment of the Staff

The realization of such a weekend would not be possible without the dedication of Disneyland employees. Many of them work as Disney VoluntEARS, passionately ensuring that each child receives a smile. This year, more than 150 staff members contributed their voluntary work to provide special moments for every child.

Voices of Participants

The emotional impact of this event is reflected in the words of Coralie, mother of young Jade: “The chance to forget the worries of everyday life and to see our child so happy is priceless for us.” These sentiments were echoed by Elise Murray, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Make-A-Wish International, who emphasized the importance of such events in giving children and their families' strength, hope, and joy.

A Long-standing Tradition of Fulfilling Wishes

Disney's commitment to Make-A-Wish began in 1980 at the Disneyland Resort in California and has since fulfilled over 155,000 wishes worldwide. In Disneyland Paris alone, more than 1,000 children’s wishes are realized each year through the support of hundreds of Disney VoluntEARS, who last year contributed over 15,000 hours of volunteer work.
