Venice, renowned for its film festival, welcomed an unusual star on the red carpet this year: Prezzemolo, the green mascot of the Gardaland amusement park. However, behind this glittering appearance was a deeper story than initially meets the eye.

Amidst the glamorous backdrop of the prestigious Hotel Excelsior, Prezzemolo, dressed in a sleek suit, became the focus of numerous camera lenses. But he wasn't alone. By his side was the internationally acclaimed Italian actor, Giancarlo Giannini. Together, they momentarily stole the limelight from A-list celebrities, providing a lively spectacle.

But what prompted this special appearance of Gardaland at a film festival? The park seized the stage to present itself as a captivating film backdrop. Under the significant title "The magical world of amusement parks meets the dreamlike dimension of cinema", Gardaland hosted a talk highlighting the park's potentials in the film industry.

Elisa Nicastro, responsible for PR & Communication at Gardaland, reflected: "Since 1975, Gardaland has served as a backdrop for various productions. Our park has always been more than just a place of entertainment. It tells stories, evokes emotions, and offers numerous impressive scenarios – from the Wild West to old English atmospheres."

Giancarlo Giannini, known for his acting prowess, echoed the sentiment: "An amusement park like Gardaland is a vibrant metaphor for life itself. It's a place that elicits feelings, and that's precisely what makes it the ideal film setting."

A highlight of the event was undoubtedly the cake cutting, which also celebrated Gardaland's 48th anniversary. After all the festivities, the charismatic mascot Prezzemolo proceeded to the Palazzo del Cinema, where he was once again greeted as a true star.

Overall, Gardaland showcased itself at the 80th Venice Film Festival as a realm of endless possibilities, not just for leisure activities, but also for the art of filmmaking. With Prezzemolo as its charming ambassador, the park might be looking at a promising future in the film business.
