The LEGO® Festival at LEGOLAND® Billund invites families to a vibrant program every weekend in May through June 8, 2025. Alongside dance, music, gaming, and LEGO building activities, the event focuses on a special cause: enabling children in challenging circumstances to enjoy a free day at the theme park.
The “Play Promise” for a Good Cause
A key feature of the festival is the “Play Promise.” Visitors can press a special button at the park’s exit, transforming their participation into a donation. These contributions fund fully sponsored visits to LEGOLAND® for children and their families supported by Save the Children. Michael Ottesen, General Manager of LEGOLAND®, emphasizes the initiative’s impact: “Every child should experience the magic of LEGOLAND, and it’s wonderful that children themselves help share this opportunity.”
Partnership with Save the Children
The initiative builds on a longstanding partnership between the LEGO® Group and Save the Children, centered on learning through play. Together, they will organize a special family day later in 2025, free of charge for participating families. Morten Bo Andersen, Head of Volunteer Communities at Save the Children, highlights the value of these experiences: “These shared positive moments offer a welcome break from the often challenging daily lives of families who typically cannot afford vacations or theme park visits.”
Combining Joy and Purpose
The LEGO® Festival blends playful enjoyment with social commitment. By making a Play Promise, guests help ensure that children in Denmark facing difficult circumstances can enjoy a day of fun and imagination at LEGOLAND® Billund.
