Hold onto your bricks! Starting May 3, LEGOLAND® Billund rolls out the world’s first LEGO® Festival, lighting up weekends through June 8. A massive heart built from 125,000 LEGO pieces steals the spotlight, while five crazy-fun play zones get families buzzing with creativity, all leading up to World Play Day on June 11.
A Festival That’s Pure Playtime Magic
Picture this: You stroll into LEGOLAND® Billund on May 3, and bam! The first-ever LEGO Festival is in full swing. It’s happening every weekend until June 8, and it’s all about families diving headfirst into fun, sparking creativity, and learning a thing or two along the way. This whole shindig is a big high-five to World Play Day on June 11. Oh, and it’s not just Billund—LEGOLAND parks in California, Germany, Florida, Korea, New York, and England are joining the party too. Joan Lykke Hansen, the park’s operations boss, is pumped: “Kids and grown-ups unleashing their imaginations together? That’s where the magic’s at!”
A LEGO Heart Brimming with Danish Vibes
Right by the entrance, you can’t miss it—a colossal heart made of 125,000 LEGO bricks. Took 650 hours to build, and man, it’s a stunner. With “I <3 PLAY” plastered across it, this thing screams fun. It’s got Danish soul, too, rocking details like the Little Mermaid, the classic LEGO Duck, and H.C. Andersen. It’s one of seven hearts crafted for LEGOLAND parks worldwide, each one a unique nod to its home. A global crew of builders clocked 4,500 hours and used 900,000 bricks to make these bad boys. Talk about a labor of love!
Five Play Zones That’ll Blow Your Mind
This festival’s got five zones that turn play into an all-out adventure. Got LEGO Fortnite® fans in the fam? The Gaming Zone’s where they’ll geek out, building stuff and chilling with Adventure Peely. Wanna feel the rhythm? The Music Zone brings a LEGO Battle of the Bands that’ll have you cheering. Over in the Dance Zone, DJ Good Vibes is spinning tracks to get everyone grooving. The Creative Zone? Total builder’s paradise—tackle challenges with a legit LEGO master. And when you need a breather, the Chill Out Zone’s got a colorful LEGO garden for crafting flowers, plus a LEGO DUPLO® show with Hopsy the bunny that’ll make the little ones squeal with joy.
