Peter Kjær-Pedersen Marks 25 Years at LEGOLAND® Billund

On June 20, 2025, Peter Kjær-Pedersen will celebrate his 25th anniversary at LEGOLAND® Billund. As Finance Director, he has shaped the park for over two decades, reflecting on a dynamic career within the LEGO® world.

A Quarter-Century at LEGOLAND

Peter Kjær-Pedersen will mark his 25th anniversary at LEGOLAND® Billund on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The open celebration will take place in the Multihuset conference area of Hotel LEGOLAND, honoring his long-standing commitment. Since 2002, he has served as Finance Director, actively contributing to the financial development of the theme park and its three accommodation options. Joining the LEGOLAND team was an easy decision for him, drawn by the park’s unique appeal within the LEGO Group and the excitement of operational work.

Passion for Projects and Team Spirit

Peter Kjær-Pedersen remains enthusiastic about his role at LEGOLAND® Billund. He thrives on implementing major projects and innovative ideas that enhance the park and its accommodations. “Even though I’ve held the same title for years, the tasks and role have evolved, keeping me professionally challenged,” he says. He particularly values the guests and colleagues: the joyful atmosphere of visitors during park strolls feels unique to him. He also praises the strong sense of community and respectful collaboration among colleagues. “We treat each other with respect, fostering a fantastic community and exceptional team spirit,” he explains.

From Budget Chief to LEGO Group

With a degree in business administration and a decade as budget chief at Realkredit Danmark, Peter Kjær-Pedersen joined the LEGO® Group in 2000 as Compensation and Performance Director. In this global role, he managed salary, pension, and bonus programs, which he found engaging. In 2002, he transitioned to LEGOLAND® Billund, captivated by its operational energy and the park’s allure. He regularly commutes from Hinnerup, north of Aarhus, where he lives with his wife, to Billund.

Leadership with an Open Door

As a leader, Peter Kjær-Pedersen prioritizes supportiveness and reliability. His open-door policy welcomes colleagues with any concern, defining his leadership style. He notes that his responsibilities continue to evolve, maintaining his professional engagement despite the consistent job title.

Family and Personal Interests

Outside the park, Peter Kjær-Pedersen is a devoted family man. He cherishes time with his wife, their three children, and his grandchild. In his free time, he enjoys running or cycling. For over 20 years, he has also served as an examiner at universities in strategy and financial management, keeping him up to date in his field. “You’re never done with business administration, and you have to embrace that,” he says with a smile.
