On May 21, 2025, the Driving School will reopen at Legoland California in Carlsbad. Closed last year to make way for a new indoor roller coaster, the popular attraction has been rebuilt in the Fun Town area. Children up to age 12 can drive cars through a Lego city while learning traffic rules.
Reopening at a New Location
In 2024, the Driving School and Jr. Driving School were closed to accommodate a new indoor roller coaster. Determined to preserve this iconic attraction, Legoland California reconstructed it in the Fun Town area. The site of the former Fire Academy, which will not return, was repurposed for the new Driving Schools, ensuring a continued experience for young visitors.
Interactive Learning for Young Drivers
The Driving School allows children up to age 12 to navigate cars through a realistic Lego Fun Town city street. The tracks feature intersections, roundabouts, and traffic scenarios that teach road rules in a playful way. A standout feature is the interactive car wash, activated by bubble triggers as kids drive through, blending fun with educational elements.
