Walibi Belgium Celebrates 50 Years in Summer 2025

From July 7 to July 27, 2025, Walibi Belgium in Wavre will mark its 50th anniversary with a nostalgic festival. Guests can enjoy returning mascots, pedal boats, a drone show on July 26, and a tribute to Brussels with Manneken Pis. The highlight is an evening event on the anniversary day.

Nostalgic Summer Festival

Starting July 7, 2025, Walibi Belgium invites visitors to relive 50 years of emotions. A giant cake and festive decorations at the entrance set the celebratory mood. A photo exhibition traces the park’s milestones from 1975 to today. Four former mascots pose at themed photo stations for memorable snapshots. Pedal boats on the lake offer a fresh way to explore the park. The 4D cinema screens the cult film “Rokken Roll” as a nod to the WAB & SkunX era. A limited-edition collection of vintage merchandise is available in the shops. All festive activities are free and open to everyone, allowing guests of all ages to connect with the park’s rich history.

Anniversary Day on July 26

On July 26, 2025, the actual anniversary, Walibi will stay open until 10 p.m. A unique flea market lets visitors purchase collectibles and spare parts from attractions, offering a rare chance to own a piece of park history. The evening culminates in a drone show above the lake, illuminating the sky to celebrate 50 years of Walibi Belgium.

Brussels Tribute with Manneken Pis

Also on July 26, Brussels’ iconic Manneken Pis statue will wear a custom costume, crafted in Walibi’s in-house tailor shop, from noon to 6 p.m. A ceremony at Brussels City Hall, attended by city and park representatives, will mark the occasion. At noon, the Walibi mascot will greet passersby at the fountain, showcasing the miniature version of the costume to highlight the bond between the park and the capital.

Five Decades of Innovation

On July 26, 1975, entrepreneur Eddy Meeùs opened Walibi Belgium between Wavre, Limal, and Bierges. With innovations like the nautical ski lift and a single-day ticket, the park set European standards. Attractions such as Sirocco, Tornado, and Temple du Soleil, along with the 1987 opening of Aqualibi - a unique concept in Belgium at the time - established Walibi as a pioneer in the country’s leisure culture. These trailblazing efforts shaped generations and cemented the park’s place in Belgium’s recreational landscape.
