LEGOLAND Marks 20 Years of LEGO Allianz Arena with Update

On May 30, 2025, LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort unveiled the revamped LEGO Allianz Arena in its MINILAND. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the iconic stadium model, the ceremony captivated attendees with custom-designed minifigures, a heartfelt reveal by young talents, and a charity donation drive.

Heartfelt Unveiling Ceremony

The reveal of the updated stadium model on May 30, 2025, was a memorable highlight. Young regional football talents, joined by park mascot Drache Olli and FC Bayern mascot Berni, pulled back a golden cloth to showcase the model, accompanied by an enthusiastic “Three, two, one” countdown. A touching moment came when nine-year-old Leon spotted his own minifigure, complete with a Viking helmet and pretzel, among the crowd. He joyfully identified his parents’ and sister Isa’s figures too, declaring, “When I grow up, I won’t be in the stands - I’ll be playing in the Arena in Munich.”

Charity Donation for a Cause

During the event, Manuela Stone, Managing Director of LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort, presented a 5,000-euro donation check to FC Bayern mascot Berni. The funds support FC Bayern Hilfe e.V. and “Merlins Zauberstab,” an organization that creates special experiences for seriously ill and disadvantaged children. “The Allianz Arena represents thrilling sports moments, outstanding achievements, and the dreams of children to one day play there,” Stone emphasized. “This project unites people and showcases how creativity fosters community.”

Revamped Model with Personal Touches

Over five months, the LEGO stadium underwent an extensive overhaul. The stands were refurbished and populated with over 30,000 new minifigures, each uniquely crafted by park guests, staff, and children from the FC Bayern KIDS CLUB. For a small donation, participants personalized their mini-me figures with details like Viking helmets, wings, or pretzels. These custom touches lend the model a distinctive charm, reflecting the creativity and community spirit of those involved.

A LEGO Masterpiece

For two decades, the LEGO Allianz Arena has been a standout in LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort’s MINILAND. Built with over one million LEGO bricks, the model was created using plans from architects Herzog & de Meuron, with designers visiting the original Munich construction site. Measuring roughly five by four-and-a-half meters and weighing one-and-a-half tons, it houses 30,000 LEGO fans. A side opening offers rare glimpses into player locker rooms, press areas, VIP boxes, and parking zones, making it a perennial visitor favorite.

A Must-See for Park Guests

Visitors to LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort can now explore the updated LEGO Allianz Arena in MINILAND. The intricate model, adorned with personalized minifigures, invites guests to immerse themselves in the excitement of football. Whether envisioning themselves in the stands or on the pitch, this display transforms every visit into a memorable experience, capturing the allure of a real stadium.
