At the heart of Europa-Park, the 4-star Hotel “El Andaluz” has captivated guests with Andalusian charm for 30 years. Opened on May 18, 1995, it invites visitors during the 2025 anniversary season to experience the essence of southern Spain.
Authentic Spanish Ambiance
Hotel “El Andaluz” embodies the vibrant spirit of Spain. With 152 rooms ranging from themed standard rooms to lavish suites, it caters to solo travelers, couples, and families alike. The unique "Arthur und die Minimoys" themed rooms, inspired by the park’s attraction, stand out as the only ones tied to a ride in Europa-Park. Guests may recall past favorites like the "Max und Moritz" room or the "Dalí-Zimmer" in the 1997 extension. Since 2023, new boxspring beds have enhanced comfort. The Mediterranean courtyard, featuring a heated outdoor pool and a cozy patio, invites relaxation, while the "Marrakesch" wellness area radiates southern flair.
Tex-Mex Culinary Delights
The "Don Quichotte" restaurant introduces a Tex-Mex experience to the hotel. Guests savor authentic Mexican dishes, from fresh tacos to fiery salsas, perfectly complementing the Mediterranean vibe.
A Milestone in Theme Park History
As Germany’s first theme park hotel, “El Andaluz” set a precedent in 1995. The concept took shape in 1994 when Roland Mack envisioned the next step for Europa-Park. Collaborating with illustrator Ulrich Damrau and Rudi Neumeier, he blended original Spanish elements with custom designs. After 15 months of construction, the hotel opened during the park’s 20th anniversary. Initially planned with four floors, founder Franz Mack cautiously reduced it by one to mitigate risks. An extension in 1997 expanded its capacity.
Spanish Details That Impress
A 750-kilogram chandelier dominates the hotel lobby. The furniture and 22,000 roof tiles were imported from Spain, as was the carousel outside, sourced from Seville’s EXPO 1992. The "Marrakesch" wellness area, once home to a small reservations office, reflects the growth of Europa-Park, now boasting six 4-star Superior hotels and the Silver Lake City.
Commitment to Sustainability
The hotel prioritizes sustainability by using waste heat from ground-floor cooling units to warm its water supply. This eco-conscious approach underscores Europa-Park’s dedication to environmental responsibility.
