More than 20 hot air balloons took to the skies over Germany’s largest theme park last week. Among them was a special balloon celebrating the 50th anniversary of Europa-Park. Rising to an altitude of about 800 meters, the flights gave guests a stunning bird’s-eye view of the park, along with breathtaking vistas stretching from the Black Forest across the Rhine Valley to the Vosges Mountains.
Participants could choose between morning and evening flights. The morning trips, lasting around an hour, offered a chance to witness the sunrise over the Ortenau region, while the evening flights showcased a picturesque sunset. These journeys provided not only awe-inspiring views of the landscape but also a memorable perspective of Europa-Park itself.
A standout feature of the festival was the 50th-anniversary hot air balloon, decorated with the beloved characters Ed and Edda. This balloon will appear frequently over the region throughout the anniversary year, lifting the park’s 50th birthday celebrations into the sky.
The balloon festival gave visitors a rare opportunity to see Europa-Park and its surroundings from a fresh angle. The mix of lofty heights, vibrant balloons, and the magical lighting of sunrise and sunset created an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
