On June 28 and 29, 2025, Europa-Park will host the 19th edition of the “Muschel in Europa” pilgrimage event. Organized by the “Kirche im Europa-Park” and the Badische St. Jakobusgesellschaft, this traditional pilgrimage follows the Badischer Jakobsweg under the inspiring motto “Schau, dein Himmel ist in mir … !”.
Pilgrimage along the Badischer Jakobsweg
The pilgrimage begins on Saturday, June 28, with a ceremonial send-off at 2:00 p.m. in the Prinzengarten in Ettenheim, marking the first time this location has been used. The route traces the southern section of the Badischer Jakobsweg, concluding around 5:00 p.m. at the Ruster Pfarrkirche “Petri Ketten”. Participants can leave their daily routines behind, immerse themselves in nature, and connect with fellow pilgrims. The walk fosters reflection and community in the picturesque landscape, offering opportunities to gather new experiences and insights.
Spiritual Program at Hotel “Santa Isabel”
On Sunday, June 29, the second day starts at 10:30 a.m. in the 4-star Superior Hotel “Santa Isabel” at Europa-Park. Jürgen Mack, the park’s owner, and Norbert Scheiwe, president of the Badische St. Jakobusgesellschaft, will welcome the guests. A spiritual reflection led by the “Kirche im Europa-Park” chaplains, accompanied by music from the trio “Los Paraguayos”, invites contemplation. Following this, Norbert Scheiwe, Pater Clemens Schliermann, and Kurt Dauben, board member of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Jakobusgesellschaften, will deliver a joint lecture exploring the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage.
